Last night, there was the senior party, right at college. Alcohol was freely served during the party. I got very, very drunk. I showed a very agressive side to myself to too many people. Usually when I am sober in person I am rather stoic. I struck several objects and my nuckles bled. I can be quite dangerous in that state. However I hate alcohol now. I got up late, had a head ache and remembered absolutely nothing of the night before. I'm still feeling a lot of pain and having regrets. How do they have the right to sell this stuff knowing what it does to people? I'm never drinking again, I despise it.
Awww Fabolous!!! I really feel for you, man!!! I really hate alcohol as well!!! You are not the only one who punches walls. My two older brothers have both punched wholes in my sister's room when they were under the influence of it!!! Sadly, in my culture, they believe that it is right to drink at a very young age!!! Even though, in America, the legal age is at 21 it doesn't bother my parents' if my sybllings drink at all!!!
*sexy*
I don'T understand why they sell it either, and also why they serve it free in Worcester on such parties. Well, to be honest, that post shocked me a little. That's why I hardly drink more than one alcohol unit in one day.
I really hope you'll feel better soon *hugs*.
I don't hate alcohol... I hate the people who use it irresponsibly. After all, can you hate a car for killing multiple people? Can you hate an orange for contracted food poisoning, and thereby making multiple people sick? Would you hate the waters for being polluted and in doing so killing multiple forms of a lving beings, both flaura and fauna? All such things are done by the hand of man, and in thus none other can claim the blame for any discontent but man himself. Even as it takes a bad driver to wreck the car which in turn wrecks another, killing people; Even as it is the farmer who uses improper amounts of pesticide, or who fails to catch signs of defectivity; Even as it is the corporate entity who runs the power plants which fills our waters with waste, or he who empties into our waters oils and other pollutants: It is also the responsibility and fault of the one who drinks of alcohol, who in doing so may commit attrocities or otherwise become a public, or even private, nuisance.
I myself enjoy a good drink now and again. It's not so bad if taken in small measures. It's only when we go to the extreme that we lose our control. Drink less, think more. If it be that strong liquors or high alcohol content doth not befit thou, then might not it be of wisdom's teachings to partake of a milder, less potent refreshment? Yea, even wine or light beer shall serve thee if it be thy desire to inebriate thyself, even if only lightly so...
Hm there is a true point about that. But still, alcohol ... I hate it, too, even though I agree with your post wrait, lol.
Right, Wraith. Why should I hate alcohol? I really enjoy having a glass of vine now and then. And if people can't drink responsibly, they maybe shouldn't at all.
who knows, but yeah, ok, let's correct the impression, I hate myself, for drinking i, lol
Well if I had a pound for every time I’d heard someone with a hangover tell me that they were “never going to drink again”, then I’d be very rich by now. On a more serious note though Wraith is absolutely right, you can’t not sell something just because some can’t use it responsibly. After all, would we say to the banks, “don’t offer credit cards, because people might get into tremendous debt?” It’s a sad fact that where there is alcohol, there are people who will drink it to excess. It is not the fault of the people who distribute the alcohol, it is the fault of the people who drink it. Having now discovered what you are like under the influence fabolous I might imagine you will be more cautious in future and perhaps not drink so much, but prohibition is not the answer. Some people drink a glass of wine with their meal, some have a beer after work, but that does not mean they will all turn into violent nutcases, if used responsibly, alcohol can be enjoyable, and this comes from someone who doesn’t drink at all.
It will only do that to people who consume large amounts which you obviously did...Alcohol is fine, as long as you don't continue drinking after the feeling no pain stage
Alcohol is great, it helps white people dance!
Does it help you mate...
No, don't hate yourself *smiles*, maybe you learned from this. lol, don't want to sound like a mother or something, but you can learn from mistakes.
They sell alcohol because, at least in America, prohibition did not work. I'm afraid I'm going to ahve to agree that alcohol itself isn't bad, but drinking so much that you get irresponsible and lose control is. Even when I was in my twenties, I liked a drink or two to relax or for the taste, but I was never interested in getting as drunk as I could and losing total control.
Nope. I hate it!!! I hate guys who drink, I hate what it does, and I just plain hate it!!!
*sexy*
The general idea is anything in moderation is fine, know your limits and don't go over the top, I speak from experience from my first time in colege way back in 1996, heck most people probably did that in their first year but that's another ball of wacks, and different people react differently to large amounts of alcohol, some laugh more, and some do what you did, show a mean side. So basicly the next time you partake in alcoholic beverages, do it in moderation.
well when you are drunk of course you will not remember what did happen the last night because well lets say you kidneys can process an alcohol cup per hour... and well what happens to the rest? well it certainly has no other way to go than your brain.... so that is why.... although I hate alcohol and I don't think I will ever drink...
Well, ya know, it sucks you did what you did, and it sucks that you're feeling disgusted with yourself right now. On the other hand, no major damage was done, and perhaps this is how one builds a responsible relationship with alcohol. All of us (well, most of us), when drunk, have behaved in ways we regretted the next morning. I've let myself be dropped from two metres in the air onto an asphalt road. I guy I know, who was in a very happy relationship, kissed another girl. As a result, I have decided that getting that drunk is simply not worth the bruise the next day, and the guy has decided that he'll never again in his life get drunk enough to risk cheating on his girlfriend, and he never has (this was about seven years ago). Point being, this is how you figure out how to deal with alcohol. You're just lucky you didn't get into a car and accidentally kill someone.
Agreed there, I've deffinatly done things that I regreted wile in the soss, so you're not the only one who's felt ashamed and disgusted with themself after a night of debauchery.
I had my stomach pumped at 15 due to alcohol poisoning the discomfort and embarrassment of that, definately woke me up...not to mention facing the wrath of my parents...
Michelle i can understand that you hate it ... but sometimes you have to try things out to learn from them.
I don't hate alcohol I just know I can't have it or i'll lose everything from it!. and yes before I was able to get sober if I got a dollar for everytime I said I was going to quit, or never going to drink again. well. grin that'd be some money!. Still if someone can drink responceably I say go for it, if you think you have a problem with it your probably right!
